How are STIs and STDs spread from person to person?

STIs and STDs are spread by having vaginal, non-vaginal, anal sex, or oral sex with someone who has an STI or STD. But, you don't even have to "go all the way" (intercourse) to get an STI or STD because some STDs and STIs, like herpes and HPV, are spread by skin-to-skin contact. Be sure to get regularly tested for STIs and STDs. Save this question to your favorites if you'd like to talk about it more with your healthcare provider.
